8-bit parallel-in/serial-out shift register
74LV165A-Q100是8位并行加载或串行输入移位寄存器，具有来自最后级的补偿串行输出（Q7和Q7）。并行加载(PL)输入为低电平时，来自D0至D7的并行数据会被异步加载至寄存器。输入PL为高电平时，输入会通过输入DS串行进入寄存器。它会在每次时钟正向跃迁时右移一位（Q0 → Q1 → Q2，以此类推）。该特性允许通过将Q7输出连至下一级的DS输入来实现并行至串行的转换器扩展。时钟输入是一个门或结构，这允许将一个输入用作一个低电平有效时钟使能(CE)输入。CP和CE输入的引脚分配是随机的，并且可以反转，便于布局。输入CE从低电平跃迁至高电平仅在CP高电平用于可预测操作时发生。
所有输入处的施密特触发器动作使电路容许较慢的输入上升和下降时间。它完全针对使用IOFF的部分掉电应用设计。IOFF电路会在器件掉电时禁用输出，从而防止任何具有破坏性的回流电流通过该器件。
